According to data from the World Bank and considering the 2019 GDP, India is the fourth largest economy in the world and one of the BRICS’ fastest growing countries today. The country has the second largest population on the planet, with nearly 1.1 billion people, second only to China, with 1.3 billion. The country stands out in state-of-the-art technology, in the segments of electronics, agro-industry and computer science, being the largest producer of software and biotechnology in the world, in addition to having an important participation in the base industry.

The purpose of the course, Knowing India, organized by CEBRI, was to offer a complete cultural panorama of this country with ancient traditions, focusing on social, political and economic aspects, and correlating them to the global scenario. The program’s topics were addressed by experts from a diplomatic, academic and commercial perspective.
