  • 29 june 2018

On May 4th, Ambassador Antonio de Aguiar Patriota was at the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI) to give the lecture "Geopolitical Trends at the Beginning of the 21st Century''. CEBRI Breaking News #20 brings an overview of the event that addressed the current global geopolitical moment, characterized by the transition from a unipolar order, centered on the United States, to a multipolarity that is still being defined. 1a5h71

In Patriota's view, it is essential that the transition to multipolarity be accompanied by a multipolar debate. Therefore, the Ambassador sought to present a Brazilian perspective on the current international configuration and promote a reflection on the role of Brazil in the transition to the new world order. The event was opened by the President of CEBRI's Board of Trustees, José Pio Borges, and was followed by comments from the CEBRI Trustee and Director of the Brazil-China Studies Institute (IBRACH), Anna Jaguaribe. At the end of the presentations, there was a debate mediated by the CEBRI Trustee, Ambassador Gelson Fonseca.
